(CNN) -- Officials are trying to rescue a 6-year-old boy who climbed into a balloon-like experimental aircraft built by his parents and floated into the sky over eastern Colorado.
The boy's family had been building the experimental aircraft at their home on Fossil Ridge Road in Fort Collins, CNN affiliate KUSA reported.
The family has described the structure as a a dome-shaped "homemade flying saucer," Larimer County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Kathy Davis said.
"We're trying to determine the best course of action," Davis said. "This is a first and we'll do what we need to do."
Fuck, don't these parents know you are supposed to put a safety fence around all experimental aircrafts when you have children around? Dumb asses. It's common knowledge. Anyone with experimental aircrafts know to block access to chilren.
This could be really stupid, but I can't help but wonder if the deflation isn't a good thing - it seems like it's almost working like a flap to slow airspeed.
shit if that kid is really inside that chamber, he's gonna be incredibly battered unless he's hanging onto something *really* tight. i'm hoping he's not in there and that it's a fraud. i don't know if he'll be alive even if it's a soft landing...
parents are unfit to be parents obv. how fucking stupid do you have to be to build this thing in your backyard, and allow your inquisitive kids to play around in / with it.
