I agree with all these points except the one I bolded. Nothing better than sipping a brewski and smoking a bowl while whacking the ball around on a beautiful golf course, all while getting exercise.
I hit the links for the first time last Thursday when My Uncle needed a sub on his golf team. I had never golfed in an official league when you are playing stroke for stroke against one other player.
I was giving him a 1 stroke advantage in terms of handicap. Got off to a horrible start putting my first drive OB, ended up with a quad on the first hole, ballooning his lead to 4 strokes. Through the next 8 holes I beat him by 8 strokes, winning by a total of 4 strokes.
I then took that time to retire from the world of "competetive" golf with a perfect record.
