like every boris poker league season we'll have, this will be a new playoff system. it isn't complicated, but it's going to need a little clarification.
playoffs will start in january after week 24. they will run simultaneously to the first 1/3 of the 3rd poker league (just like the guantlet league's playoffs have run during the first weeks of chimp pack).
16 players will make the playoffs this time around and each team will send their top 4. think of it as mini-divisions.
playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket (picture included) with priority seeding given to teams with the best results. i've also arranged for the seeds to be separated from their teammates so that you don't face your own team right away.
each round will be 2 weeks long and will consist of 2 matches per week, 1 heads-up and 1 last longer in that week's boris tourney. the HU matches are going to be nlhe to make things easier on everyone. the top 8 seeds will be able to choose the first 8 weeks of the 3rd boris league's tournaments.
in the event of a tie (2-2) after two weeks, a 4-man sng NLHE tiebreaker will take place to determine who advances to the next round. the lower seed has to finish 2 spots higher than the higher seed or win the tournament to advance. that is where the higher seed's advantage is.
the other 2 members of your sng will be chosen by me but it will also serve as a tiebreaker for them either now or in the following round.
the whole thing should last 8 weeks. there is no makeup for the last longers but a makeup hu match can happen as long as it's done before the next wednesday.
explanation of image: "team1" is the team that finishes 1st on the chimp pack standings. "#" is the place you finish on your team's leaderboard.

all hu matches will be set up for 8pm pst wednesday. if you don't make your hu match and make no effort to reschedule with me and your opponent it will be considered a forfeit. any wednesday last longer missed will be an auto forfeit. in the interest of fairness, the higher seed is the person with more points during the regular season.
